Led by punk rock enthusiast, Orchestrating Diversity performs classical music
The Lemp Neighborhood Art Center, The Lemp for short, is a supporter of the widest range of music. A local mecca of DIY punk and cutting edge experimental music, the center is also the base of a youth orchestra that plays "old stuff."(See related stories linked in the sidebar at right,)

Orchestrating Diversity is directed by Mark Sarich, pianist, educator and head honcho at The Lemp, with founder Max Woods, a student at Washington University. The two offer free formal musical education to students who would otherwise be unable to afford lessons. The orchestra performs several times a year across the region.
The orchestra's summer concert will be held Aug. 5 at Graham Chapel on the campus of Washington University. Admission is $5.
On Friday, supergroup Crosby, Stills and Nash will perform at the Fabulous Fox Theatre. In the world of book signings, Left Bank Books will hold a reading and signing of Matthew Pitt's "Attention Now Please," and soap opera fans will have the chance to witness the blurring of fact and fiction with "Days of Our Lives" stars Bill Hayes & Susan Seaforth Hayes reading and signing of "Trumpet."
